Best for boat-day drinks and lunch
A soft cooler makes sense when you carry provisions from the car to the boat and want something easier to transport than a large hard cooler. This model has a padded, removable shoulder strap, a waterproof front pocket and a waterproof TRU Zip lid zipper. West Marine specifies welded 840-denier nylon with TPU lamination.
The listed dimensions are 22 × 11.25 × 16 inches. Measure your storage spot before ordering. “30 can” is the retailer’s capacity rating; the space available for drinks and food depends on how much ice you use.
Three checks before buying
- Check the total: This single cooler is below the $99 free-shipping threshold. The product page advertises free shipping on eligible $99+ orders, but West Marine’s general terms exclude clearance and some special items. Let checkout confirm eligibility rather than buying extras just to reach the threshold.
- Match it to the job: We would choose this for portable refreshments, not as a seat, step, large fish box or powered refrigerator.
- Look after the zipper: West Marine includes a TRU Zip lubricant wipe and recommends pre-cooling the main compartment. Follow the supplied care instructions; no independent ice-retention test is claimed here.
There was only one customer review on the product page when checked, so this recommendation is based on the verified offer and stated design, rather than a large review sample or our own hands-on test.
Our take
This is a useful 50%-off offer if the size fits your boat and you already want a portable soft cooler. The saving remains substantial with the listed $9.95 standard shipping charge. Check the current price and delivery options at West Marine before ordering.
